As part of our commitment to reducing our impact on the environment, Jaguar Land Rover Selective Catalyst Reduction (SCR) technology allows your vehicles to meet the latest EU6 emission standards by reducing the levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emitted from exhaust systems by up to 90%. It does this by turning NOx emissions into harmless water vapour and nitrogen.

In addition to a new generation of catalytic converters, SCR technology also requires the introduction of an additive into the diesel exhaust system, known as Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) or AdBlue®.

DEF or AdBlue® is a non-toxic liquid containing urea and demineralised water, and is drawn into the exhaust system of the vehicle from a reservoir. Driving style, vehicle load and engine size are just a few of the influences on the amount of AdBlue® used. However, the average rate of consumption is approximately 1 litre for every 1,000 miles (1,609 km) travelled.

Please contact one of our Approved Retailers or Service Centres for more information, or refer to the literature pack in your vehicles.
